Job summary

Extra Space Storage is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations across multiple locations. You will build strong customer relationships, drive sales through unit rentals and services, and maintain site cleanliness and safety standards.

This daytime role emphasizes a structured sales process, cash handling, and excellent communication with customers and team members. A valid driver's license is required and Sundays may be off depending on location.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer-facing work experience. Sales experience preferred.
• Current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle; except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High School diploma or GED is required; college education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Ensure highest cleanliness standards through daily site maintenance of the office and storage building.
• Perform daily site safety inspections and lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, and daily deposits.
