Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Lancaster, PA to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, opening/closing procedures, and ensuring safety and policy compliance.

Ideal candidates have retail leadership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling/cash register tasks, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and company policies by associates
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Keep store clean and orderly, including bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
