Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Roanoke Rapids, NC is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in all store operations and customer service excellence. This hourly role focuses on selling, restocking, merchandising, and scheduling to achieve store goals.

You will supervise in the Store Manager’s absence, participate in recruiting and training, monitor inventory and expenses, and ensure policies and standards are followed. The role rewards initiative and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Retail experience, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Team-player focused on outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Assist in overall personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed.
• Maintain quality customer service per manuals and company policies.
