Job summary

Dollar Tree in Laurel, MD is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, elevate customer service, and develop the store team. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandise organization from delivery to floor, and supervising store associates in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail, grocery, or drug store management experience preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties (standing, walking, kneeling, etc.).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized store environment; protect assets.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Handle payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention responsibilities.
• Ensure store standards for displays and cleanliness are met.
• Other duties as assigned.
