Job summary

Dollar Tree in Newberg, OR is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and maintain merchandise flow from delivery to sales floor.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, processing directives, supervising staff, and ensuring a clean, safe environment. Part-time position with opportunities to lead and train store associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping including payroll, scheduling and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
