Job summary

Dollar Tree in East Amherst, NY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and develop a high-performing team.

You will assist with opening/closing procedures, merchandise flow, inventory accuracy, and loss prevention while upholding company policies and standards. This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to guide associates in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; supervise and train store associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
