Job summary

Hibbett, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Manager in Columbia, SC to support the Store Manager in daily retail operations and customer service excellence.

The role requires knowledge of store departments, policy adherence, and experience in a fast-paced retail environment. The Assistant Manager will supervise in the Store Manager’s absence and assist with hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on tasks.
• Strong attention to detail with multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling assets and achieving store goals.
• Consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• Act as acting Store Manager in absence of the Store Manager.
• Oversee personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Ensure inventory, sales statistics, and expenses support profitability across departments.
• Direct staff to meet department responsibilities and standards.
• Maintain awareness of inventory movement and customer trends.
• Maintain high-quality customer service and store operations.
