Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC in Downers Grove, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers in a positive, approachable manner, organize merchandise, train associates, and ensure safety and policy compliance while maintaining a clean, welcoming shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform various physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment required.
• Excellent customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store areas and secure store assets.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and supervise/train store associates.
• Create a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
