Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Northbrook, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with opening/closing procedures, merchandise flow, payroll and scheduling, and training of store associates while maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment. This role demands strong communication and leadership in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and lead store associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
