Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee store operations, customer service, and team development in Surprise, AZ.

The role supports opening and closing procedures, merchandizing, payroll and scheduling duties, and loss prevention while maintaining a clean, safe store.

You will lead by example in a high-energy environment, coach associates, and ensure a friendly shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking/standing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow them.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
