Job summary

Family Dollar in [Location] is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop a high-performing team. The role involves assisting with daily activities, merchandising, and compliance with corporate directives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience in retail supervision preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communicate store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling, plus loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat areas.
