Job summary

Family Dollar in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise moves smoothly from delivery to sales floor while keeping seasonal areas well maintained.

Responsibilities include opening and closing procedures, following corporate directives, maintaining promotional displays, and helping with payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience in retail, grocery, or drug store management is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Team-oriented with ability to train and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and related communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, respectful environment with professional interactions.
• Other duties as assigned
