Job summary

Family Dollar in Fort Dodge, IA is hiring an Assistant Store Manager on a part-time basis. You will support store operations, customer service, and team development, performing opening/closing duties and ensuring safety and policy compliance.

You will help organize merchandise, assist in ordering and loss prevention, and train store associates to uphold company standards while maintaining a clean, well-stocked sales floor and friendly customer interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Retail management experience in grocery or general retail is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Train and develop store associates and maintain a safe, respectful environment.
