Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Kinston, NC to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, help organize merchandise, and supervise opening/closing procedures while ensuring safety and policy compliance.

You will also contribute to training Store Associates, maintain clean and well-stocked areas, protect company assets, and deliver a positive, friendly experience for customers and colleagues alike.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers with questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Follow corporate directives and store policies.
• Maintain store areas and protect assets including cash.
• Supervise, train, and develop store associates.
