Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Union, New Jersey to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with daily tasks, arrange merchandise from delivery to floor, and help supervise opening/closing procedures while ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, experience in retail management or similar settings, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment (preferred).
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment with exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise and manage stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store front displays and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, payroll and cash deposits.
• Keep store areas clean, stocked, and safe, following policies and procedures.
• Train and develop Store Associates under the Store Manager.
