Job summary

Famous Footwear, part of Caleres Inc., is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in California who will lead the store in the Store Manager’s absence and champion a customer-focused shopping experience. You’ll recruit, train, coach, and motivate a team to meet sales targets and growth goals, while maintaining policy compliance and brand standards.

You will also handle staffing, reconciliations, and daily operations, ensuring the store runs smoothly, remains visually aligned with brand guidelines,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of sales experience (retail preferred).
• Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training people.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate positively with store Associates at all levels.
• Ability to train, coach and develop Associates to provide an engaging customer experience and execute operational tasks.
• Exercises independent judgment and discretion partnering with Store Sales Manager, as needed.
• Demonstrates strong cognitive skills, including problem solving analysis, decision making, and financial and quantitative analysis.
• Has advanced working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Can work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Has basic computer skills.
