Job summary

Famous Footwear in Mesa, AZ, part of Caleres, Inc., is seeking an Assistant Store Manager dedicated to delivering an outstanding customer experience and leading a team.

You will act as the store leader in the absence of the Store Manager, motivate staff to hit sales targets, and support daily operations, product presentation, and brand standards while growing your leadership skills in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Has a High School Diploma/GED.
• At least 1 year of sales experience (retail preferred).
• Experience interviewing, hiring and training people.
• Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store Associates at all levels.
• Displays ability to train, coach and develop Associates to provide an engaging customer experience and execute operational tasks.
• Exercises independent judgment partnering with Store Sales Manager, as needed.
• Demonstrates strong cognitive skills, including problem solving, analysis, decision making.
• Has advanced working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Can work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Has basic computer skills.

• Ace Retail Operations & Support Staffing Levels: you’ll know retail operational fundamentals and support staffing levels with the Store Manager’s guidance.
• Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: you’ll take accountability for goals and apply insights to improve results.
• Be a Culture Builder: you’ll foster diversity and inclusivity and lead by example.
• Be our Store Manager’s Right Hand: you’ll step in for the Store Manager and develop internal talent.
