Job summary

J&H Family Stores in Michigan is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily operations, coach staff, and ensure outstanding customer service while meeting sales and financial goals.

You will work closely with the Store Manager, help recruit and develop employees, manage store paperwork, control labor hours, and maintain a clean, efficient shopping environment. The role requires at least one year of management experience in retail and a high school diploma. CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year management experience in industries such as hospitality, financial services, retail and restaurant.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Ability, willingness, and comfort to engage with customers.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with internal and external customers.
• Strong desire to exceed corporate initiatives and inspire excellence in a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
• High-energy, collaborative management experience.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Attend the Modern Management course.
• CPR certified.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to ensure outstanding customer service and achievement of store objectives.
• Assist Store Manager in day-to-day operations and in absence of Store Manager direct activities of employees.
• Maintain exemplary customer service and develop relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
• Assist in recruiting, developing, and motivating store employees who meet customer expectations.
• Assist in ordering, bank deposits, and daily paperwork; complete store orders monthly.
