Job summary

J&H Family Stores seeks an Assistant Store Manager in Michigan to lead daily store operations and deliver exceptional customer service. You will support the Store Manager, guide staff, and ensure objectives and sales targets are met.

In the absence of the Store Manager, you’ll direct all store activities and maintain operation standards. The role requires strong leadership, customer engagement, and excellent communication skills, with 40–50 hour weeks and on‑site requirements in a retail

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of management experience in retail or related industries.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to engage with customers and develop positive relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• High-energy, collaborative management style.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve store goals.
• Assist Store Manager in day‑to‑day operations and in their absence direct store activities.
• Assist in recruiting, developing, and motivating store employees to exceed expectations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Establish a strong customer service and selling culture to maximize sales.
• Supervise CSR activities when the Store Manager is unavailable.
• Handle store paperwork, banking, and ordering.
• Attend monthly financial meetings with the manager and district manager.
