Job summary

Family Dollar in Mississippi seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, merchandise movement, and opening/closing procedures.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team setting. Prior retail management experience is preferred and a commitment to store safety and cleanliness is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform varied physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all store assets including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store environment
• Other duties as assigned
