Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and supervise employees under the Store Manager's direction. You will handle deposits, scheduling, training, and loss prevention while ensuring profitability and excellent service.

Responsibilities include managing merchandise, opening/closing, running cash registers, and maintaining inventory accuracy. Prior retail supervisory exposure is preferred for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers and operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with policies.
• Assist in managing merchandise: receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and building displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and controls.
• Implement and maintain planograms; ensure merchandise presentation follows guidelines.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, refunds, and cash control procedures.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
