Job summary

Dollar General is hiring for an Assistant Store Manager role focused on leading a customer-first store. You will supervise staff, manage inventory and deposits, and ensure profitable store operations.

The position requires supervisory experience and a HS diploma, with a starting pay range posted. Location-based duties include shopping floor management, safety, and executing company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for staff.
• Receive, stock, restock, and display merchandise per planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and losses.
• Support planogram maintenance and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash handling accuracy; perform deposits when needed.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager’s absence.
