Job summary

Shoe Carnival in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for a full-time, key holder role to oversee daily operations and lead the team in delivering a friendly, customer-first store experience.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, driving sales, training associates, supervising cash handling, and maintaining visual standards. Candidates should have at least 2 years in retail, strong leadership, and be able to obtain Key Carrier Certification within 60 days.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of retail or customer service experience.
• Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
• Must complete Key Carrier Certification within 60 days.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be at least 18 years old due to keyholder responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store as a key holder.
• Support the General Manager in reaching sales goals.
• Lead customer service efforts and resolve issues professionally.
• Train and guide associates on processes and standards.
• Delegate daily tasks and coordinate breaks.
• Assist with visual merchandising and store presentation.
• Perform register overrides, safe/till counts, and cash reconciliation.
• Follow and promote loss prevention procedures.
