Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise handling, open/close procedures, and enforcing store policies.

You will help train and supervise store associates, maintain clean and organized spaces, and ensure a safe, friendly shopping environment for customers. This role is part-time with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Retail/ grocery/ drug store management experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
