Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast‑paced retail environment. You will assist with day‑to‑day activities, help organize merchandise, and ensure shelves and stockrooms meet company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform repeatedly lifting, walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and maintain displays.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure all associates follow them.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
