Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of North Carolina LLC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Goldsboro, NC. You will assist with daily tasks, supervise associates, and help maintain a welcoming, safe shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. Prior retail or store-management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics) is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties (walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies; train and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
