Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Forest Park, OH to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day functions, help customers, organize merchandise, and participate in opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and store management experience in retail or grocery; strong communication and teamwork are essential. This is a part-time position with opportunities to lead and grow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (walking, standing, stooping, etc.)
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain neat and stocked store areas and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines, ensuring staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Foster a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash disposal
• Handle other duties as assigned
