Job summary
The Salvation Army in St. Joseph, MO is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in overseeing daily retail operations, supervising staff, and delivering excellent customer service.
In this leadership role you will help with staffing, scheduling, training, safety compliance, and store presentation while driving sales and community engagement in a mission-driven environment. The position offers paid training, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth within one
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- 2 years retail experience (thrift experience a plus)
- Strong English communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency including POS systems
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check
- Valid Driver's License
Responsibilities
- Assist with training, coaching, and supervising store staff
- Provide leadership during daily operations
- Support staffing, scheduling, and planning
- Help ensure policies and procedures are followed
- Assist with banking procedures and daily financial processes
- Maintain records and documentation
- Communicate with Store Manager regularly
- Complete additional duties as assigned
