Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise employees, manage merchandise presentation, handle deposits, and support loss prevention.

This role includes stocking, cashiering, scheduling, training, and leading the team to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting assets.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and cash handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and displaying.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory and shield losses through proper controls.
• Assist in planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity with cashier accountability, refunds, and deposits.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
