Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise store employees, manage merchandise, complete paperwork, and assist with deposits to protect assets and reduce losses.

You will also perform stocking, cashiering, scheduling, and training tasks to support profitability and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to operate cash register and perform banking-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training sessions; conduct safety meetings.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels by controlling damages and markdowns; handle scans and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandise is presented as directed by Store Manager.
• Safeguard store assets through strict cash handling, deposits, and refunds.
• Assist in store management during Store Manager absence.
