Job summary

Family Dollar in Canton, OH is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with merchandise, scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and compliance while maintaining a clean, well-stocked store.

The role requires strong communication and a focus on customer service and safety. The position offers exposure to loss prevention, payroll, and leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged goods, record-keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and follow policies and safety guidelines.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; ensure professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Maintain store cleanliness and restocking of bathrooms, floors, and trash areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
