Job summary

Family Dollar in Silver City, NM is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise is well-organized on the sales floor and in the stockroom.

The role includes opening/closing procedures, adherence to corporate directives, and maintaining a safe, friendly store environment. Full-time position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
