Job summary

Family Dollar in Eagle Pass, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily tasks, greet customers, organize merchandise, and help with opening and closing procedures.

Responsibilities include supervising associates, training staff, managing inventory, safeguarding assets, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming store environment. This is a part‑time role with opportunities to contribute and grow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain records related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and handling payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restrooms, floors, and waste.
• Other duties as assigned.
