Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Inkster, Michigan to support store operations and customer service. You will help develop Store Associates, supervise daily activities, and ensure a clean, safe, and friendly shopping environment.

You will assist with merchandising, inventory, scheduling, payroll, and expense controls while upholding company policies and promoting excellent service to customers. This role is essential to daily store performance and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred; must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Open and close procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling/cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness, restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and neat presentation.
