Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager in Evansville, IN to support daily store operations and customer service while developing team members. You will assist with merchandise flow, scheduling, and loss prevention, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment for customers and associates.

This role requires leadership, strong communication, and hands-on involvement in all store activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is preferred
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform repetitive lifting, walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process all corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and waste management
• Other duties as assigned*
