Job summary

Family Dollar in Elgin, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with open and close procedures, stock movement, and compliance with corporate directives while maintaining a welcoming shopping environment.

The role requires hands-on leadership, effective communication, and the ability to train and supervise store associates, ensuring accurate records, safety, and excellent service in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical activities
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and operations
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Move merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and secure assets
• Protect and secure all company assets and ensure policies are followed
• Supervise, train, and develop store associates
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Keep bathrooms clean and stock areas neat and presentable
• Other duties as assigned
