Famous Footwear in Augusta, ME is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead the team in the Store Manager's absence and deliver the best shoe store experience for families. You will motivate a team to hit sales targets while maintaining a welcoming store environment and up-to-date product presentation.

You will coach and develop associates, supervise daily operations, and ensure adherence to company programs, with a focus on customer connection and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of sales experience (retail preferred).
• Experience interviewing, hiring, and training people.
• Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate with store associates.
• Ability to train, coach and develop associates to provide a engaging customer experience.
• Exercises independent judgment partnering with Store Sales Manager.
• Demonstrates problem solving, analysis, and general retail knowledge.
• Flexible schedule to meet business needs including holidays and extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Inspire associates with integrity and drive to deliver the Customer Connection.
• Network with external talent and assist in hiring top candidates for the store.
• Oversee pricing, shipping processing and inventory to keep store operations on track.
• Drive sales and apply insights to improve location performance.
• Support a culture that values diversity and inclusivity and fosters engagement.
• Step in for the Store Manager when needed and uphold policies and programs.
