Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. The role supports the Store Manager with staff supervision, merchandise presentation, daily paperwork, and deposit preparation.

Responsibilities include leading customer service, managing the cash register, scheduling, training, safety meetings, and ensuring policies are followed to maximize profitability and protect assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• At least 1 year of retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation and cash handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling training safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, receiving, stocking, rotation and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and deposits.
• Assist with planograms and merchandising presentation as directed.
• Support store finances with cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Assist with store coverage in the Store Manager's absence.
