Citi Trends is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Champaign, IL. You will support daily store operations, lead the team, and assist with hiring, onboarding, and development of store associates.

With 2–4 years in a retail leadership role and 3–5 years total retail experience, you’ll drive customer service, manage staffing, and ensure operational excellence. This on-site role offers opportunities for growth and advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role.
• 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to ensure sales goals, customer experience standards, and operational expectations are met.
• Supervise and support store associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service.
• Assist with hiring and recruiting activities, including candidate screening, interviews, onboarding, and training support.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and customer-focused store environment.
• Reinforce adherence to company policies, procedures, and loss prevention standards.
• Support consistent execution of merchandising, operational, and visual standards.
