Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Indiana LLC in South Carolina is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, support the Store Manager, and help ensure a clean, welcoming environment for shoppers.

The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to organize merchandise, supervise staff, and handle opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process all corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and payroll/scheduling tasks
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff compliance
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness of store, bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal
• Other duties as assigned*
