Job summary

Dollar Tree is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development in Hazleton, PA. You will assist with daily functions, ensure excellent customer experiences and help train Store Associates as part of a high-energy team.

The role focuses on maintaining clean, organized sales floors and stockrooms, processing directives, and protecting store assets while upholding company policies. This position offers full-time hours and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret operational directives required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies, procedures and safety guidelines; ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure bathrooms and store areas are clean and well maintained.
• Other duties as assigned.
