Family Dollar in Port Arthur, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise placement, opening/closing tasks, and ensuring policies are followed to maintain a welcoming, safe environment.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to lead a small team, and physical stamina for lifting up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and answer questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives including pulls, holds, and other store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record-keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow them.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store environment.
