Job summary

Family Dollar in Seminary, MS seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, train associates, and ensure a welcoming shopping environment.

Responsibilities include merchandise organization, opening/closing, loss prevention, scheduling, and maintaining clean, well-stocked floors. You will partner with the Store Manager to drive performance and ensure safety and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention
• Maintain areas of the store, including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure associates follow them
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store (bathrooms, floors, trash, etc.) and ensure neat presentation
