Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Arlington Heights, IL to support store operations and team development. You’ll assist with daily activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure clean, well-run floors.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, inventory, and loss prevention with a focus on customer service and staff coaching. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and prior retail leadership experience, plus strong communication and teamwork

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain areas of the store and ensure displays are effective.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash and maintain a safe environment.
• Train and develop Store Associates and support the Store Manager.
