Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Hoffman Estates, IL to help oversee daily store operations and customer service. You will assist with merchandise organization, opening/closing procedures, and staff supervision to ensure a smooth, safe shopping experience.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a commitment to policy compliance and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery environment is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep areas clean, restocked, and presentable throughout the store.
• Other duties as assigned.
