Job summary

Family Dollar in Midwest City, Oklahoma is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day‑to‑day store activities and respond to customer questions in a friendly, helpful manner.

You will support opening and closing procedures, merchandising, payroll and scheduling, loss prevention, and ensure the sales floor and stockroom are well organized and clean.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Retail management experience in a store environment preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to lead a team and work in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process all corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain clean and organized store areas and stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store and restocking as needed
• Other duties as assigned
