Job summary

Family Dollar in Savannah, GA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily activities, supervise staff, manage inventory and maintain store standards to ensure excellent service.

The role requires strong communication, customer service and leadership skills, with a focus on safety and loss prevention. This position is full-time and on-site with potential for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; able to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organization and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restrooms stocked, floors swept/mopped, trash removed and areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
