Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Sterling, VA is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise flow, open/close procedures, and ensure store standards while fostering a positive, safe environment for customers and staff.

You will supervise and train associates, handle payroll/scheduling tasks, and support loss prevention and policy compliance in a fast-paced retail setting with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record-keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and colleagues.
• Ensure store cleanliness, restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, trash removal.
