Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of New Mexico LLC in Taos, NM is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with daily store functions, organize merchandise flow from delivery to sales floor, train associates, and ensure clean, safe, and welcoming conditions for customers.

This role requires strong communication, leadership, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs; prior store management experience in retail is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks related to store operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays to ensure effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling).
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and secure store assets.
