Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and help maintain displays while ensuring a safe, professional environment for staff and customers.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, adherence to corporate directives, loss prevention, and staff training under the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow them
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store environment
